Foodservice - Product Manager (Buyer)
The Product Manager (Buyer) reports to the Vice-President of Procurement and is responsible for the sourcing of various lines of product; negotiating price with vendors and suppiers; program development; ensuring effective inventory levels while maintaining maximum fill rates and turns; resolving bad and out-of-specification items; item pricing strategies; approving invoices; collection of "past due" accounts.
Other responsibilities include interfacing with the Sales, Marketing, Shipping & Receiving, Transportation and Accounts Receivable Departments to determine and satisfying their needs. Periodic demos and presentations must be made at the Sales Staff monthly meetings.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. The benefit package includes Salary, Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, 401k (with additional Profit Sharing contributions), Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability (optional), up to four weeks of Vacation and Employee Product Discounts.

The candidate must have these minimum requirements:
- A minimum of five years of direct experience in the foodservice buying and procurement environment, having successfully performed the duties of the job for another broadline foodservice company.
- During that time displayed a consistent track record of leadership among other buyer contemporaries.
- Possess an ability to negotiate fair pricing and maintain a relationship with the source.
- The discipline to manage the challenges that the industry presents with composure.
- Successfully managed up to 5 subordinates.
